COMMENTARY: Jesus wants us to believe. But he wants us to believe things that are true. I could figure out a way to have faith that prophecies given by God’s prophets will come true, even though they haven’t yet. But I have no idea how to have faith that men are prophesying when they aren’t. Mormons have sustained Thomas Monson as a prophet for over half a century. During that time, he has issued exactly zero prophecies. It’s time to stop pretending. But what do I know? I’m just another apostate.
