COMMENTARY: The Mormon position is untenable: “Who needs to get married when you can just rely on the atonement to keep you warm at night? Go ahead. Live a life of loneliness so that we don’t have to feel uncomfortable at what you might otherwise be getting up to between the sheets. We’ll pat you on the back on Sunday and then go home to our spouse and family—which we forbid you to have.” If Mormons who think this way would just turn it around and examine how they would feel if the situation were reversed, they would easily see that it couldn’t possibly be the plan of a loving God. But what do I know? I’m just another apostate.
