Words vs actions

QUOTE: “Of special concern to us should be those who struggle with same-sex attraction. It is a whirlwind of enormous velocity. I want to express my love and admiration for those who courageously confront this trial of faith and stay true to the commandments of God! But everyone, independent of his or her decisions and beliefs, deserves our kindness and consideration. … The Prophet Joseph Smith warned us to “beware of self-righteousness” and to enlarge our hearts toward all men and women until we feel “to take them upon our shoulders.” In the gospel of Jesus Christ, there is no place for ridicule, bullying, or bigotry.” –Neil L. Andersen, in General Conference, April 2014. [source]

CHURCH POLICY: “A natural or adopted child of a parent living in a same-gender relationship, whether the couple is married or cohabiting, may not receive a name and a blessing.” –LDS Church Handbook of Instructions 1, section 16.13. [source]

COMMENTARY: When your actions don’t align with your words, only people who refuse to think for themselves will believe your words, while everyone else will see and understand your true motives. But what do I know? I’m just another apostate.
