FAMILY PROCLAMATION: “We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.” -from The Family: A Proclamation to the World, issued September 23, 1995. QUOTE: “The world is moving away from the Lord faster and farther than ever before. The adversary has been loosed upon the earth. We watch, hear, read, study, and share the words of prophets to be forewarned and protected. For example, ‘The Family: A Proclamation to the World’ was given long before we experienced the challenges now facing the family.” -Robert D. Hales, in General Conference, October 2013. [source]
COMMENTARY: So, exactly what are the challenges facing the family that didn’t exist until long after 1995, Robert? Because it seems to me that we face the same challenges we’ve always faced. But what do I know? I’m just another apostate.
