DEFINITION: myth (n): 1. a traditional story, esp. one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events. 2. a widely held but false belief or idea.
COMMENTARY: Before you complain to me that the story of Jesus isn’t a myth, please consider how your argument would also apply to any of the thousands of other gods known to have been worshipped by devout believers somewhere in the world. Your god is just as much a myth as theirs. But what do I know? I’m just another apostate.
